Employee onboarding coordinates many different teams to provide a smooth experience for your new hires. This Slack workflow template organizes the process with a shared checklist in a Slack channel.
When a manager has a new employee ready to sign their offer, they can kick off the onboarding process by clicking the "Onboard an employee" shortcut in an HR channel.
The hiring manager will be prompted to fill out a form in Slack where they'll specify details about the new employee (name, department, start date, computer preference, etc.). You can customize the form questions for your team's needs.
The workflow will automatically post an approval in a threaded message for HR, who will verify that the hire has signed all the necessary paperwork before onboarding can begin. They'll have an explicit Approve button they click when they're ready. This step is powered by Wrangle.
Next, the workflow automatically posts a task checklist for the various teams to begin their onboarding tasks. The assignees will be notified, and the checklist will be posted to a hiring channel so everyone can track the live status of the work.
